Easy steps to make dag repository work in Linux February 9, 2009

Installting application in linux are always a difficult task for newbie specially when it comes to managing the dependencies of RPM’s. Below are the quick steps to add  third party DAG repositories in linux 

Step1:
Create a filename named dag.repo in /etc/yum.repos.d and paste the following

Step 2:

# Name: RPMforge RPM Repository for Red Hat Enterprise 4 – dag
# URL: http://rpmforge.net/ 
[rpmforge]
name=Red Hat Enterprise $releasever – RPMforge.net – dag
#baseurl=http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el4/en/$basearch/dag
mirrorlist= http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el4/en/mirrors-rpmforge
#mirrorlist=file:///etc/yum.repos.d/mirrors-rpmforge
enabled=1
gpgkey= file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmforge-dag
gpgcheck=0

Step 3:

Your done !! just install what ever you want 🙂
